How It Improved My Smoking Habit
My smoking habits can be categorized into three groups over the time I started crossing over slowly from smoking to now when I e-smoke only. These categories are:
Category 1:
This is when I smoked traditional mostly and electronic cigs a bit.
I loved the e-cig but smoked it a little. This is because I did not get my craving satisfied from it. This can be attributed to many other addictive substances in the traditional tobacco. Also the brand which a friend of mine had advised apparently did not have enough nicotine to quench my craving and experimenting different brands appeared too costly with the hard economic times. I mostly reached for it in public places where smoking is prohibited since it did not produce real smoke but flavored vapor which was quite social friendly. The vapor does not contain any tobacco, tar, offensive odors, or smoke clouds hence very acceptable in many public places such as hotels, bus stations and even college compounds among others. This was advantageous to me since I could smoke in private places and public ones through an alternation between the real and the e-cigarettes. By this I mean I used e-cigs in public places while the conventional in designated smoking areas or while at home. However, my other setback in electronic usage was it operation. I hated its working mechanism especially the activation button that I was supposed to press or hold anytime I wanted to make a puff. With this button I just felt something didn’t work out. I hated it but little did I know that there were automatic that could be active automatically with just a drag on its mouthpiece. With this realization, I was ready to elevate my e smoking to a higher level. After all it was the safer alternative to the tobacco smoking and I was determined to reap the best from this great innovation of our time.
Category 2:
This is when I smoked E-cigs mostly
The E-cig did not satisfy my nicotine craving always and sometimes, though not often; I even used to forget that it was in my pocket whenever that urge to smoke arose. Whenever I tended to think of taking a smoke, I always had the urge to take the traditional first but ended up taking the E-cig most of the times unless my cravings got the best of me. Sometimes I missed my old smoking habits such as the smoke break, but with time I got used. I had to stay safe and protect my precious health. As I have confessed earlier, many a time a strong urge for the real tobacco would drive me mad but I still fought off the same. I had a great determination of conquering my traditional smoking habit and nothing would bring me down. I took chances and though at times the results werent all that pretty, the overall progress was promising. I found myself using the smokeless more often as compared to the real, something I was really proud of. It may be a mere change of tactic but to be frank, it called for a lot of sacrifice from my side. Being an odd one out became a regular vocabulary in my world especially when I hooked up with friends and colleagues. Most of them if not all were diehards of tobacco smoking and whenever we got together, they had to do some puffing. This didn’t go on well especially with me since my electronic cigarettes could not offer whatever analogs offered to my peers. But there was no way I could give in to going back to traditional. I failed to keep my promise a couple of countable times but the good news was that I was almost 97% on to e-smoking.
Category 3:
This is the period from when I switched fully to e-cigs to now. My smoking habit only requires a few puffs but at very high frequency, say every 10-15 minutes for instance. I thus transformed from one intense smoking session to another session where the intensity is less but spread over time. But fortunately, I have been adapting well with the e-cigarettes especially by following the end-user guidelines that come with the kit to the letter. I can manage the recommended dose without a lot of hustle. These coupled with the assurance of health safety, gives me the reason to be proud of my current smoking habit. Smoke breaks have become unnecessary since I do not need to find a non-smoking area. When I feel the urge to smoke I just take a couple of puffs without minding my location.
Moreover, I can stretch my cartridges further and even reduce the nicotine level the next time I am re-ordering catridges. This is the reason why most of the manufacturing companies will overestimate the length of time of a cartridge. Therefore, if one may be wondering how he/she should improve smoking habit, the answer is to make a switch to the e-cigarettes.
