I hope this story can help some other people. My mother has smoked all of her life, and when I got married our house had acquired such an odor from her constant smoking that I had to store my wedding dress at a friend’s house. While that bothered me, I wasn’t as bothered by that as I was by the fact that six months later I was pregnant and afraid of exposing my newborn child to the smell and unhealthy dose of her cigarette smoke.

I immediately knew that she had to stop, and for the health of my baby I had to tell her that if she couldn’t stop she’d never be able to hold her grandchild. I don’t know if that was the catalyst she needed, but she finally went to the doctor and tried everything including gum, patches hypnotism, and nothing worked, but I’m not sure that she was really interested in quitting smoking.

Two weeks before the baby was born, she discovered electronic cigarettes. She went online and did some research. Once she found one to her liking and in her price range she ordered a starter kit. Once it arrived, the cigarettes looked just like a conventional cigarette and apparently you can buy them in a selection of flavors and strengths to fit your taste.

I read the information they came with her starter kit and apparently the biggest difference between a traditional cigarettes and the electronic cigarette is that this liquid containing nicotine has been purified, so it doesn’t have any tar or the thousands of other harmful substances found in a traditional cigarette.

Another plus is that it does not give off any carbon monoxide smoke, but just a fine vapor that dissipates quickly, so there are no secondary smoke problems for people around you. Apparently they’re allowed on planes, in bars, restaurants and all the other places that regular cigarettes are banned from. Electronic cigarettes also don’t have the aftereffects of yellow teeth or odors on your hair and clothes, furnishings, car and everywhere else.

What I consider to be really one very big advantage of electronic cigarettes is that they are electronic, so there’s no chance you could burn the house down if you fall asleep smoking one. It has been a lifesaver for my mother and I mean that in every way. Her health is improved. She’s enjoying her granddaughter immensely, and she had her house cleaned from top to bottom. She looks better, feels better and is enjoying life and it’s all because of electronic cigarettes. They’re the best thing to ever be invented.
